3. Discussion of Glenview
Stores Closure
The Chair announced that various discussions had taken
place with a number of organizations in the last week to try and find a
solution to the closure. However, in the
last day the joint owner of the shop had resolved the problem, which had forced
the closure of the shop and was now prepared to open it for mornings only for
the next two to three weeks. After that
the shop would be open as usual. The
Chair then read out a letter from Elaine Chalmers (the owner of the shop),
which gave her apologies for not being at the meeting and that the reason she
shut the shop was because of legal advice but she is now in a position to
re-open the shop. It was pointed out
that the shop wouldn’t be well stocked to begin with but there would be
newspapers and that a notice would go up with the times of opening. Everyone agreed this was very good news,
there was general support for Elaine Chalmers and also Frances Baird from
Lochawe Stores was thanked for helping out at such short notice
4. Any Other Business
There was no other business.
There being no further business the meeting ended at
7.45pm
