The Dalmally & Lochawe Drama Society are looking for help with this year’s panto. This will be the first panto to be performed in the new Dalmally Community Centre and the drama group want to make it the best panto ever. If you are willing to act, sing, dance, help with scenery, props, make up, or selling tickets on the door then please come along to the meeting on 20th September 2011 at 7.30pm in Dalmally Community Centre.

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011TranServ are intending to close the road through Lochawe village overnight for 5 nights from the 21st August between 19.00 and 06.00 hours for resurfacing work, and then do the same in Connel from the 4th September. Previous road closures in this area have started at 22.00 hours so if you have any concerns about the early evening closure please contact liam.black@scotland.transerv.co.uk or phone 01738 455 372. Monday, May 16th, 2011Join in The Big Lunch 2011
The Big Lunch is an Eden Project initiative that aims to get as many of the 61 million people in the UK as possible to have lunch with their neighbours once a year, and it’s happening on Sunday 5th June 2011.
It’s a fantastic community cohesion project that cuts across social, cultural, class and generational divides. As such, we’re trying to spread the word about the initiative as far and wide as possible and ensure that all types of community are encouraged to take part.
Would your area be able to hold a Big Lunch for a few hours of fun, friendship and community? It’s not to late to organise something – no matter how big or small. A Big Lunch can be anything from a few neighbours getting together in a garden or on the street, to a full blown party with food, music and decoration that quite literally stops the traffic.

Pulpit Rock/Community Council meeting
Sunday, October 31st, 2010Last chance to write to Transport Scotland about the total and complete closure of the A82 for 14 weeks, currently scheduled for January, February, and March 2012 at Pulpit Rock south of Ardlui. The realigning of the road at this point will also cause speed restrictions and have a convoy system in place for up to 12 months. Have you an opinion on this? Should the work be done at all? Should it be carried out at another time of year? Why should the road be closed for so long? This is similar to the proposal to close the Innis Chonain Bridge and look what we got instead of a new bridge!
